At the Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior (SNEB)’s 2023 international conference, Altarum’s food and nutrition work with SNAP and SNAC programs in Maine, Alabama, and Illinois will be featured on not one, not two, but FOUR posters. Senior Associate Brenda Wolford will also hold a concurrent session with University of Illinois SNAP-Ed on asset-based community nutrition education. The event will be held in Washington, DC from July 20–23.

SNEB represents the unique profession of nutrition educators. They are dedicated to promoting effective nutrition education and healthy behavior through research, policy, and practice. The theme of the 2023 conference is Re-connect, Re-nourish, Re-inspire. This reflects the urgent need to address the food and nutrition inequalities that were compounded by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ms. Wolford, alongside our partners at Illinois SNAP-Ed, will hold a concurrent session titled: Asset-based Community Nutrition Education: Aligning Program and Partner Efforts for Equity-Centered Nutrition and Food Systems Transformation. This will be held on Friday, July 21 from 4:15–5:15 pm.

Altarum’s work will also be highlighted on the following posters:

  • Poster #52: Use of Location-Based Marketing in Social Marketing Campaign Successfully Reaches Priority Communities in SNAP-Ed. Friday, July 21, 2023, 10:45 am–12:00 pm; Presented by Illinois SNAP-Ed, with Altarum staff as co-authors
