Dr. Atkinson has 24 years of professional experience in business economics, corporate planning, and strategic management activities related to health information technology.

Loren Bell is a nationally known expert in food assistance and nutrition education program policy and program operations.

Robert Borchert is recognized as an industry expert in all aspects of revenue cycle management.

Christopher Botsko is an expert in health systems change and the integration of health and social services with a focus on programs that affect women, children, and adolescents. He has 15 years of experience designing and conducting evaluations and supporting community efforts to improve services and resources for children and families.

With more than 30 years experience in health care – including military medicine – Cathy Call brings experience in developing and administering complex health re-engineering programs; targeting force reduction while maintaining highest quality patient care; and strategic planning, policy development, and operational deployment. 

Stanley Chin focuses on expanding Altarum’s strategic opportunities in the health arena. He has more than 13 years experience in health care consulting, with a specific focus on program evaluation and information technology.

Dr. Collins’ research experience focuses on the social determinants of health and health inequities, with a particular interest in issues elucidating factors within the social and built environment that impact the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged groups. She has extensive training in quantitative and demographic analyses and has taught at various universities throughout the country.

Mr. Gelman has more than ten years of experience assessing, developing, and evaluating substance abuse treatment/behavioral health programs throughout the country.

June Gertig is skilled at the design, delivery, and management of technical assistance (TA) across multiple formats tailored for diverse audiences and preferred learning modalities.

Glen Greenlee oversees a portfolio of projects and program managers that focus on studies, analysis, and data extractions to support corporate planners with the Military Health System and within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Dr. Jamie Hart’s work focuses on the fair distribution of health opportunities and improved health outcomes. She is recognized for designing and facilitating high-level meetings to identify barriers and develop concrete steps to achieve systems change.

Tom Hill has over twenty years experience as a grassroots and professional community organizer. He is a nationally recognized thought leader in the field of addiction recovery and recovery–oriented systems of care.

Antigone Hodgins is Deputy Director for Knowledge and Information Development at Altarum Institute and brings 18 years of experience in HIV/AIDS program management, organizational leadership, technical assistance, and consensus-based strategic partnership building. 

Mr. Hoeft is a Toyota-trained Lean Six Sigma Coach who has helped organizations win 14 Shingo prizes. He is a practitioner, teacher, and thought leader in applying Lean principles to unique, knowledge-worker processes such as healthcare, new product development, supply chains, and manufacturing.

Paul Hughes-Cromwick is a health economist and Senior Analyst at Altarum Institute where he has worked since 2002. He has been involved in healthcare economic and policy analyses since receiving his master’s degree in 1981.

Dr. Holly Korda brings career experience as a consultant to nonprofit, public, and private organizations in the areas of performance-based evaluation and decision support, strategic analysis, and identification and transfer of best practice innovations in public- and private-sector health care.

Jim Laramie has extensive knowledge of the Military Health System from the administrators’, providers’, and beneficiaries’ viewpoints. 

Mr. Lee has been with Altarum Institute since 1989 where his work has focused on evaluating the cost effectiveness of medical capital investments, disease management programs and new health technologies.

Dr. Matt Longjohn is a noted expert on obesity prevention, public health leadership, and school health who has worked extensively with nonprofit organizations, hospitals and healthcare systems, research institutes, foundations, and city and state agencies.

Dr. Karen Metscher brings more than 20 years of experience with the Military Health System, TRICARE program management, managed care, clinical support, patient administration, medical evacuation, medical records management, and medical workforce planning.

A person living with HIV for 26 years, Mr. Milan is a national expert on and advocate for HIV/AIDS policies and programs.

Dr. Miller supports Altarum in the application of operations research methods to modeling and analysis of health care issues. He has directed numerous projects addressing topics in the cost of care.

Raymond Paris has extensive experience in military health program design, requirements analysis, metric development, and programming.

Dr. Charles Roehrig is a health care economist and econometrician specializing in health sector modeling and analysis. He has many years of experience in forecasting health workforce supply and requirements. 

Renee Schwalberg’s project work focuses on maternal and child health, children with special health care needs, and the presentation of quantitative data. She couples solid qualitative and quantitative analytic skills with the ability to present research findings in a format that is readily understood by professional and lay readers alike.

Dr. Amy Sheon possesses 25 years of experience working in cutting-edge and emerging public health issues including family planning, HIV research, ethical issues in genetics, and childhood obesity.

Brad Smith, Altarum’s Research Director for Innovative Care Delivery, helps guide the Institute’s strategic research initiatives related to improving the performance of the health care delivery system. He also continues to lead technical projects in a variety of substantive areas.

As a senior analyst with Altarum’s Center for Studying Health Spending, Ms. Turner has over twenty years of experience in quantitative analysis and modeling to support decision making in health care policy and operations. She has extensive experience developing models to forecast health professions supply and demand at the federal and state level, including studies of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and physical therapists. 

Dr. Walke is the practice area lead for forecasting and economic analysis specializing in military and veterans’ health, Medicare payment, and cost-effectiveness of new technologies. He has more than 10 years of experience conducting quantitative research and health policy studies, program evaluations, and economic studies.

Dennis Zaenger has more than 10 years experience providing training and technical assistance in the area of health care services and emergency preparedness.

Beth Zimmerman, Altarum’s Director of Integration and Change Initiatives, focuses on both corporate-level activities as well as technical projects addressing maternal and child health issues. She possesses in-depth expertise in the conduct of process evaluations for programs serving vulnerable populations.
