Altarum Institute sees health information technology (HIT) as a transformative force in our knowledge and understanding of health and health care and in the delivery of health care services. For more than 20 years, Altarum has helped federal, state, academic, and industry partners leverage available health information systems and technology to improve health. Altarum has been closely involved in four major HIT initiatives: state public health registries, disease surveillance systems, personal health records, and information exchange efforts.
We assist our clients to design, implement, and evaluate health information technology investments to address emerging challenges in public health and health care delivery. By applying systems research principles and analytical objectivity, Altarum helps clients increase access to health information, improve the organization and usability of health information, and develop new knowledge from health information.
