Altarum Institute works with states to identify specific challenges, issues, and priorities that impact Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) service delivery and operations. Examples include:
- Participation trend analysis
- State funding formulas
- Barriers to and best practices for participation and retention
- Non-participation by WIC-eligible individuals
- Surveys, focus groups, and onsite data collection from staff members and participants
Altarum has recently embarked on the first year of a 3-year customer service assessment of states in the USDA Mid-Atlantic Region. The Altarum team will analyze service delivery policies and practices, staffing patterns, and participation trends, and it will conduct focus groups with current and prospective participants.
