The MHS oversees the operations of hundreds of hospitals and clinics throughout the world, each of which must be designed, constructed, and staffed to meet the demand for services of the local military community. Altarum Institute has developed the Health Care Requirements Analysis (HCRA) tool for forecasting the health care needs of local populations. These analyses are used in turn by facility planners to design and build health care facilities and systems to meet those needs.
Altarum is currently involved in a new task to determine economic requirements as we design and complete the Laboratory Economic Requirements Analysis. This study draws on Altarum’s HCRA expertise to develop a model to identify the economic requirements for the six U.S. Department of Defense drug testing laboratories located at Fort Meade, Tripler, Jacksonville, San Diego, Great Lakes, and San Antonio. This analysis will enable the Department of Defense to identify the most cost-effective way to meet its drug testing needs.
