With their in-depth understanding of both science and communication, science writers help forge connections between researchers and bring research to the public. Science writers at Palladian Partners, an Altarum subsidiary, contribute articles to each issue of DCEG Linkage, the newsletter of the National Cancer Institute’s Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics. Among other features, Linkage highlights scientific advances funded by the division, for which writers must thoroughly understand and summarize technical research papers. In addition to writing, Palladian staff members coordinate the newsletter’s publication and develop Linkage’s online edition. DCEG Linkage has received numerous awards, including APEX Awards for Publication Excellence 3 years in a row.
