Retired Chief Financial Officer, DTE Energy Company

Mr. Garberding was a member of the Board of Directors and Chief Financial Officer of DTE Energy Company until his retirement on December 31, 2001. Prior to DTE Energy, Mr. Garberding held executive positions with financial and operating responsibilities for a number of energy-related companies. He has broad experience in energy and energy technologies. By participating in the formation of new companies and venture capital groups, Mr. Garberding has been a leader in establishing the distributed generation industry.

Mr. Garberding is Chair of the Audit Committee of the Board of Trustees of Altarum Institute. He also serves on the Board of Directors of H2Gen Innovations Inc., Intermagnetics General Corporation, Intermap Technologies Corporation, and Plug Power Inc.
